Buffalo Renaissance Foundation

Letter from the President

As I begin my term as President, I reflect on the success the Buffalo Renaissance Foundation has achieved in the last few years.  In particular, we sponsored two high profile community initiatives in 2017, the placement of a new sculpture outside the Hotel Henry and the commissioning of the USS Little Rock.  Internally, our endowment passed the $1 million mark. Our success comes as a direct result of the leadership and teamwork our directors have demonstrated.  Together, we move Forward within the community to foster and enhance the renaissance we are currently experiencing.

Each year we continue to evaluate our operations and to find new ways to support our community.  I anticipate that we will work to refine our mission at our annual retreat in March.  In the beginning, our Appropriations Committee offered grants to those within our community in need of seed money to help accomplish their goals.  As our giving program undergoes a transformation, we are currently preparing for a Signature Project that will be substantial in scope, breadth, and community reach.  The Signature Project will make an even greater impact within the community that will not only be beneficial but also sustainable.

Our core events, including the annual luncheons and golf tournament, are growing, not only in attendance, but also in recognition.  Our annual luncheon during which we present the “Renaissance Man of the Year Award” has honored some of the most influential business leaders in Western New York.  Those same leaders are directly responsible for the current renaissance we are experiencing.  Our annual golf classic, recognized as the second longest running charitable golf tournament in Buffalo, continues to help generate funds needed for us to provide to charitable organizations in need.  The Veterans’ Luncheon has seen tremendous growth in recent years, and we offer scholarships to those men and women who have protected our country and who are now ready to continue their educations.

I am honored to lead the Buffalo Renaissance Foundation for the next two years.  Ours is an excellent organization.  Please join me and the BRF in helping to move Forward.
