Happy Holiday from the Buffalo Renaissance Foundation!
As 2014 quickly comes to an end, I reflect on all that we have achieved as a foundation and I anxiously anticipate the coming New Year.
The past years appropriation committee received 21 grant applications totaling over $118,000 in requests. We were honored to host a record breaking amount of Veterans at our Veteran’s Day Luncheon that resulted in the necessary funds needed for our Veteran’s Scholarship Program.
Our annual luncheon had over 500 attendees honoring Dr. L. Nelson Hopkins, our 2014 Buffalo Renaissance Man of the Year. Guests had the privilege to hear key note speaker, Jody Lomeo, speak about the new age of leadership in Buffalo. Our 2nd signature event was the 32nd Annual Buffalo Renaissance Foundation’s Golf Classic. Teeing off at the scenic Niagara Falls Country Club, 120 golfers enjoyed a day of golf and delicious dinner while overlooking the Toronto skyline.
It humbles me to know that no matter how much we achieve, there is so much more opportunity for the Buffalo Renaissance Foundation to make a difference in Western New York in 2015.
I wish you and your family a healthy and happy new year.
